Following the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘s ensemble poster and final trailer comes the release of character posters for Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), Chirrut ÃŽmwe (Donnie Yen), K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), with Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker).
Check out the latest posters here below.
As you can see, each of these characters has a blueprint of the Death Star illuminating on their face. These posters made their official debut on Twitter, and came with a very small description of each character.
For Jyn Erso, she has a “checkered past” but joins the Rebel Alliance for “a greater cause.” As for Cassian Andor, he’s simply an intelligence officer for the Rebel Alliance. Then we have Chirrut ÃŽmwe, a warrior monk with faith in the Force, and he is joined by Baze Malbus who is not only a soldier but Churrit’s friend. Finally we have two former members of the Empire: Bodhi Rook, a “former Imperial pilot who’s seen the light,” and K-2SO “Reprogrammed to fight the Empire that made him.” Finally, there’s Saw Gerrera, who is “resolved to win the fight against the Empire.”
On the Imperial side, we have Director Orson Krennic, who is described as “cruel,” “brilliant,” and “obsessed.” The lack of Darth Vader being a major part of the marketing campaign reinforces the notion that his role is limited and will loom over the transpiring events like a phantom.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in theaters on December 16, 2016.
