Warner Brothers and director James Wan have found a villain to do battle with star Jason Momoa in the upcoming DC Extended Universe movie Aquaman.
It’s being reported that Watchmen, The Conjuring, and Insidious star Patrick Wilson has joined the cast. Wilson is set to play Orm Marius, also known as Ocean Master, one of Aquaman’s greatest enemies who also happens to be his half-brother.
Back in August it was revealed that Aquaman would be doing battle with another one of his biggest foes, Black Manta. It’s unclear if this has changed with the Wilson casting, but chances are there will be multiple villains or Wilson’s Ocean Master will simply be set up for potential future installments in the franchise.
That said, also in August, Wan shared some thoughts on the character and compared him to Wolverine. At that time, he wasn’t able to confirm whether or not Black Manta was actually the villain. So who knows.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes””Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash””it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Also set to star in Aquaman is Amanda Beard as Mera and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko. You can find more related to the movie right here.
The movie is currently scheduled for a release on October 5, 2018.
