WHAM! Deadpool Rumored To Be Making A Cameo In ‘Logan’
  |  @   |

There’s no arguing that Deadpool was the breath of life that the X-Men film franchise so desperately needed. The self-depreciating humor and the constant jabs at the inconsistencies within the universe made us all laugh. So a cameo appearance from the Merc with the Mouth in a future X-Men film is practically inevitable.

Of course, if there had to be a film that Deadpool would like to appear in, it would obviously have to be Logan. And according to a new report, it looks like he may be getting his wish. A new report says that Ryan Reynolds will be making an appearance as Deadpool in the next Wolverine movie. But the actor and director James Mangold may have something else to say. Check out the full report below.

The Wrap was the first to break the news. According to them, Reynolds has already shot his scene, which was directed by Deadpool 2 director David Leitch. Sources say that the scene is most likely an after-credit scene. But before we can get to any of that, Reynolds and Mangold are both denying that Deadpool will appear in the movie, during the film or during the credits. Here’s what they both tweeted out:

Mangold isn’t pulling any punches on this one. While The Wrap is a reliable source, Umberto Gonzales, of Heroic Hollywood and Latino Review, has been known to get it wrong a few times. But when he is right, he is right. So there is a chance that there is some truth to the rumor and that Reynolds and Mangold are simply playing the denying game.

If it is wrong, it probably is for the best, as Logan‘s tone couldn’t be more different from Deadpool’s. The former is dark with the titular character dealing with the mortality of his life while also protecting a child from mutant hunters. The latter likes to crack wise while cheerfully causing pain and misery. If a cameo were to happen, it would be best if it were as an after-credit scene.

That being said, Reynolds and Mangold’s tweet likely kills any hope for a Deadpool cameo happening. Although the thought of one happening sounds really cool right about now.

Logan is set to open in theaters on March 3, 2017.
