‘Star Wars: The Old Republic’ Players Pay Their Respects To Carrie Fisher (Videos)
  |  @   |

Fans of Carrie Fisher have been mourning the loss of the actress in various ways, such as attending lightsaber vigils.

For some gamers, there was no need to go anywhere in the real world. Many people who play the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic jumped into that game world, and visited Castle Organa—the ancestral home of House Organa, including Fisher’s Princess Leia, located on the Apalis Coast of the planet Alderaan—to pay their respects. One player even created a character that looks like Leia to be there for the many visiting fans. And some of the players’ characters were considered enemies to House Organa, forcing them to fight through NPCs just to join in the memorial, which they did. Friends and enemies alike stood together in honor of the fallen princess.

Below you can find multiple videos of players gathering at Castle Organa.

I, Kerry Nobbs, made this short video of players from Star Wars the Old Republic gathering on Alderaan to pay tribute to Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies, who has passed away.

We fans had our ‘nerdy’ way in saying goodbye to a Star Wars legend..

On December 27 2016, beloved actress Carrie Fisher, who famously played Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars movie franchise passed away. Randomly, many players in Star Wars: The Old Republic gathered on Princess Leia’s home planet Alderaan, in front of House Organa to mourn and honor her.

May the Force be with you. Always.

“There is no death. There is only the Force.”

Streamed live on Dec 27, 2016

A quickly thrown together memorial service for Carrie Fisher on the Ebon Hawk RP-PVE server for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

The meeting place was deep in Republic territory at Castle Organa on Alderaan, but that did not stop a handful of Imperial toons from fighting past all the guards to get there.

Starts out slow but eventually a circle is formed.

Please excuse my abysmal editing skills. The footage was taken on December 26, and though the memorials ran all day, this video focuses only on a small amount of the people who attended.

It was truly a wonderful thing to be a part of. It was kind and lovely and I am very honoured that we could all come together to say goodbye to Alderaan’s princess. (Respect to the Imperials who had to fight the Organa guards. Pretty impressive.)
