Watch James Corden’s Very First Carpool Karaoke With George Michael
  |  @   |

On the first day back from the holiday break, James Corden spoke about the first time he met George Michael, for Comic Relief’s “Red Nose Day,” a huge charity in England for the famine in Ethiopia. The sketch had him and George singing in a car on their way to save Red Nose Day. The Late, Late Show With James Corden has had immense success with “Carpool Karaoke,” and this was where it was born. “It was the first time I’d ever sung in a car with anybody, and it’s become quite a big part of my life now, and he really inspired it.”

Check out the video below.

Corden and Michael get in a bit of a fake tiff and it is only healed by Wham’s “I’m Your Man,” complete with gestures for the right part of “If you’re gonna do it, do it right.” Corden has a good voice, and Michael has a great voice, and when they belt it out, their smiles are contagious.

The Carpool Karaoke bit is always a blast, probably because anyone who drives knows that that’s what we do. We shut the windows (or open them if we are not shy), turn the volume up, and try for the high note on “I Will Always Love You” or “Dream On” (depending on your fancy). Whether or not you were a fan of George Michael, anybody that grew up in the ’80s know his songs, and they are extremely catchy.

Oh, and you’re welcome.
