New Video Shows The Easter Eggs That Connect Pixar’s Movies
  |  @   |

One of the many things Pixar is known for, is including Easter Eggs in their movies that connect said movies to other movies they’ve made. They do it so often, in fact, that a popular fan theory is that every movie they make is set in the same world.

A new video has been released which supports this theory in a lot of ways, showcasing a bunch of these Easter Egg connections. From humans to toys, bugs to cars, monsters to machines, the connections find their way to them all.

Continue below to give the video a watch.

As for the fan theory, it seems quite likely that a great deal of Pixar’s library of excellent animated flicks are indeed set in the same world. We know some are for sure, such as the first connection in the video below, Finding Dory and Inside Out. There’s also that Toy Story and A Bug’s Life crossover from the Toy Story 2 blooper reel, though to be fair that could have simply been the filmmakers having some fun on their third big movie way back in the year 1999.

The one franchise that breaks the “one world” theory, however, is Cars. If it were set in the same world it wouldn’t be Gastow’s, it would still be Gusteau’s. Plus, you know…the cars freakin’ talk. That would make it more of a parallel universe, similar to the universe some or most of the others are set in, but not exactly the same. Monsters, Inc. is another, likely existing in some alternate dimension but with the ability to access anywhere using their magic doors. The monsters have the upper hand, folks. There’s no stopping them.

So if all of these movies are set somewhere like the show Rick and Morty where an infinite number of parallel universes and dimensions exist, then yes, they’re all set in the same place. Sorta.

The most likely reality though? Pixar simply enjoys putting little nods to their movies into other movies, does not put much thought into how they actually connect to everything else (or didn’t put much thought into it before this theory—perhaps now they’re a little more strategic), and then sits back to enjoy watching their passionate fans construct complex theories on giant chalkboards that may or may not ever be officially confirmed or denied.

In any case, it’s all just another reason to love Pixar.
