Geek Peek: The Entire ‘Ocean’s 8’ Crew Take The Subway (Image)
  |  @   |

At some point in time we all take the metro train. Most of us take it to commute to work. But for others, they use it for a different purpose. Like using it to plan a heist or perhaps as a getaway vehicle from a heist. That’s the image we are seeing in the new photo for Ocean’s 8 starring Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean, the sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney) of the Ocean’s Trilogy, and her entire crew.

Check out the image here below, along with more details about the cast.

Before we get into the slimmed plot, here’s who will be joining Bullock on the heist. Cate Blanchett is Lou; Rihanna plays as Nine Ball; Mindy Kaling is Amita; Awkwafina plays as Constance; Helena-Bonham Carter stars as Rose; Anne Hathaway is Daphne Kluger; and Sarah Paulson plays as Tammy. A nice multi-talented crew to have to pull off a heist.

They will be targeting Damien Lewis, and plan to rob him of unspecified valuables during the Met Gala. James Corden, Dakota Fanning, and Richard Armitage also star. Matt Damon and George Clooney are rumored to reprise their respective roles from the Ocean’s franchise.

The cast alone has all the makings of a very entertaining film. I know the Ocean’s franchise isn’t exactly one with a rabid fanbase. Of course, I could be wrong. Even though most critics say the sequels got progressively worse, I found them to be fun. Hopefully, Ocean’s 8 will be a lot different. Again, it’s got a great cast.

It’s rare to see a promotional image for a film 18 months in advance of its release. That being said, it does set the tone. It features another strong ensemble of actresses with excellent acolytes. Bullock, Blanchette, and Hathaway each an Academy Award win, Rihanna has a Grammy Award win, Paulson has an Emmy, and Kaling has an Emmy nomination. Not a bad cast to be around.

Directed by Gary Ross, Ocean’s 8 is set to open in theaters on June 6, 2018.
