Avengers Thanos

Marvel Studios has released the very first look at Avengers: Infinity War in a brand new behind-the-scenes featurette that details what fans should expect to see and how the threat of Thanos will have an impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. That’s because the video confirms the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy will finally be teaming up. Oh, and something about a Spider-Man being a part of this team is there, too. Check out the featurette and the FB Live video here below.

Here’s the video that was posted to the Marvel Studios official Twitter account:

Rocket and Thor Avengers Infinity War

It has been long speculated that the Guardians would be in the mega-ensemble, with Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Sean Gunn all posing in photos with their new Avengers production attire (beanies and whatnot). Spider-Man was also rumored to be a part of this film. Now there is undeniable proof that there is going to be a crossover unlike any other. And I’m not just saying that one scene will have Guardians while the other will have Avengers. No, Rocket and Thor will definitely be seen together in the same action sequence.

Thanos Avengers Infinity War

As for the video, it’s important to note that the film is currently in production, so Marvel is being very careful not to spoil anything. The purpose of this is just to confirm what everyone has been dying to hear. Robert Downey Jr. Tom Holland, and Chris Pratt are all seen together on the same desolate set with a green screen in the background.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige promises the Mad Titan will be “the biggest, the badest, the best, and most frightening villain the Avengers have ever faced.” That’s a pretty tall order, considering the villains have be a bit lackluster. Still, Marvel doesn’t look like they will be holding back on anything for this film.

Iron Man armors Avengers Infinity War

Feige also talks about how they’ve been setting up for this moment since the very beginning, and the purpose of splitting the Avengers up in Civil War. Torn apart, it would seem that they are completely unprepared to face such a threat. It seems rather interesting to see that he brings that point up, with no Captain America in sight. Elizabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner claim they haven’t seen a script yet. So will this film focus on Team Iron Man first? That’s more of a speculation.

Now the desolate setting looks nothing like “Infinity Gauntlet,” for which the film is partially based on. Where could this be? Could it be Earth?

The FB Live video didn’t reveal much, either. Again, it’s way too early to reveal anything at all. That being said, it was still fun to see that DRJ, The Russo Brothers, and a webslinging intern let loose and have fun in between takes.

Written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters May 4, 2018.
