‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Test Screenings Score A Perfect 100
  |  @   |

We’ve all heard about these mysterious test screenings for films. Oftentimes, they help a studio gauge how good or bad a movie will be. Sometimes these scores are kept a secret, but when a film scores near the 90s, it’s something that catches everyone’s attention. So imagine what it is like when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 scored an unprecedented 100.

According to THR, the sequel scored higher than both Iron Man 3 and The Avengers, both of which scored in the high 90s. This is obviously great news for the cast and crew. Director James Gunn has been making an effort to reveal very little during the marketing campaign. So far, it has worked out well. Every trailer and TV spot has gotten the kind of reaction that Disney and Marvel were hoping for.

This proves that little studio interference can go a long way. Think about it. Guardians of the Galaxy was a huge risk for Marvel, and they could have interfered if they felt the film wasn’t going in the right direction. But as it turns out, the film was hit critically and commercially.

Now for the flip side. These test screenings are not open to the public. Those closest to the people involved in making the film were able to see it. So there might be a little bias there. So let’s not give the title of best film of the year to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 just yet. Again, these tests are used to address any possible issues, probably narrative considering that the effects aren’t done yet.

Still, let’s look at the positive that is, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 earned a rare perfect 100.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens in theaters on May 5, 2017.
