‘Beauty and The Beast’ Clip: There Goes That Emma Watson Singing
  |  @   |

Who could forget the opening to Beauty and the Beast, where the townsfolk of the Little Town greeted Belle with a lyrical “Bonjour?” Fast forward 26 years later (do you feel old yet?), and Disney’s live-action adaptation of the movie is just a part of the studio’s newest tradition of turning animated films into live-action ones.

While we’ve seen plenty of trailers in the past, the studio has released the film’s first clip, which features a snippet from what is presumably the opening song “Belle.” Check it out below.

The clip is somewhat different when compared to the actual opening number from the animated film. From the dance choreography to the physicality of the set designs and costumes, it all adds a little more nuance. So it should be interesting to see how well Disney translates the musical aspects of the animated film into live-action. While Cinderella and The Jungle Book have proven to be huge hits, this will be the first time that the studio has released a live-action adaptation of an animated film as a musical. We’ve also added the original animated version below just so that you can compare the two.

Starring is Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson.

Here’s an official synopsis:
