Bond. James Bond. Iconic and straightforward, just like the man himself. As a matter of fact, this might be both his greatest strength and most crippling weakness. In the newest tale from Dynamite Entertainment, Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007: Black Box #1, this is explored and exploited in equal amounts.

A routine assignment leads our favorite agent to discover that his target has been eliminated by a previously unknown competitor. Upon returning home, he finds that more than just his mission may have been compromised and sets out to find the culprit or culprits. The reader is made aware that Bond has a marked disdain for the digital world but finds that he must begin to embrace it or be left behind.

Gadgets and gizmos are a mainstay for this character and this premiere issue is no exception as he is given new devices to make his job easier. Luckily, he is still able to hold on to at least a few of his classic accoutrements. It’s classic Bond with a modern twist as he deals with espionage and threats in the new frontiers brought on by the digital age.

Black Box Part One – Whiteout The next epic adventure for 007 kicks off in the snowbound French Alps, where Bond finds himself in the crosshairs of an assassin who targets other assassins. This is the first puzzle piece in a larger adrenaline-fueled mystery that will send Bond across the globe to investigate a digital breach that threatens global security.
