For something as highly anticipated as Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it’s likely that fans will get their first look at the film at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, FL. Even then, what they will see could amount to just a teaser.
But for those who hold stock in the company, they got their first look at the film. You know, just to be sure that their money is being put to good use. During a Disney shareholders meeting, those in attendance reportedly got to see the first scene from the film, plus a few short looks at some exciting moments. Check out the description below.
The news comes to us from Daniel Miller, of the LA Times, who sent out a series of tweets that describe what was shown. First he says that the opening scene was a playful teaser:
"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" clip is being screened. But it's a joke, sort of! We just got a few seconds of Rey handing Luke a lightsaber.
A nice way to break the ice. But then came the serious stuff as Miller says the lightsaber hand-off between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) was quick:
We just saw more "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" footage. In it, Luke asks Rey, "Who are you?" Then we see her deftly handle a lightsaber.
It’s probably not so much of a surprise that there is no mention of any dialogue. However, Miller does tweet about the exciting new locations that will appear in the film:
One last thing on the "Last Jedi" footage: We saw all sorts of settings — mountains, oceans, forests, deserts. Look suitably epic, exotic.
I can’t wait to see what kind of uneasy flight that X-Wing pilot is having or how it even got that way in the first place. First thought as to who the pilot could be is obviously Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), however the tweet did not mention who it is, so we just have to play our usual guessing game until it is finally revealed. That being said, this is the first we are hearing about actual footage being released. And while we can expect to see something at Star Wars Celebration, it could be even longer before an actual trailer is revealed to the world. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if we do see something after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits store shelves in early April.
So, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters on December 15, 2017.
