‘Wonder Woman’ Trailer: Gal Gadot Puts A Stop To The Wrath Of Evil
  |  @   |

After three DCEU films failed to live up to expectations, it’s easy to see why everything about DC’s shared film universe rides on the success of Wonder Woman. Based on what we’ve seen so far, it looks like the film will not disappoint. Of course, the character, played by Gal Gadot, had a little bit of a head start when she appeared alongside Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where she practically stole the show with her heroics.

The title film will be the first major female superhero film to hit theaters, and now Warner Bros. has dropped a new trailer to give us another taste of what is to come. Check it out here below.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman will explore the title character’s origins and how she left her home on Paradise Island to help Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) against the Germans in World War I. There seems to be a slight confirmation that Danny Huston‘s General Erich Ludendorff is Ares, the Greek god of war. That or Ares has possessed his body. Rumor has it, David Thewlis (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) will be playing Ares, although that has yet to be confirmed.

We’ve seen plenty of trailers in the past, but a lot of them skimmed on the plot of the film. Though this new trailer seems to hint that there is a deadly gas involved. Other than that, it may play out like a traditional superhero origins movie. And that may not be all that bad. Looking at what Warner Bros. has given us so far, I’d have to say that Wonder Woman may be the film to pull the DCEU out of the hole.

Wonder Woman also stars Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Saïd Taghmaoui.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

“Wonder Woman” hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers”¦and her true destiny.

Written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman arrives in theaters on June 2, 2017.
