The ‘Mission: Impossible 6’ Sequence That Tom Cruise Has Been Training For
  |  @   |

Don’t let his age fool you, Tom Cruise has been putting himself through a lot of hurt to bring a sense of realism to his films. That means he does his own stunts, even if those stunts risk his life. We’ve seen him scaling the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa building in Dubai in Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Then he hung onto the side of a plane in Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation. So what’s next for him in Mission: Impossible 6? Well, apparently it is a sequence that he has spent a year training for.

More on the story below.

Collider was the first to break the exclusive news. In an interview with the site, Skydance Media CEO David Ellison mention that Cruise was going to start filming on April 10th and will shoot in locations like Paris, London, and New Zealand. However, he dropped a little hint about a huge stunt, which has been the crux of the past three films.

“We’re thrilled. Chris is back, obviously, writing and directing after Rogue Nation. We could not be more excited about the character Henry Cavill’s going to play. And I will say after the Burj [Khalifa] we thought it was going to be impossible to top that stunt, and then Tom did the A380 for the plane. What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that’s come before. It is absolutely unbelievable “” he’s been training for a year. It is going to be, I believe, the most impressive and unbelievable thing that Tom Cruise has done in a movie, and he has been working on it since right after Rogue Nation came out. It’s gonna be mind-blowing.”

However, director Christopher McQuarrie took to twitter to clarify what Cruise has been training for.

Still, to spend an entire year training for a sequence, it’s gotta be pretty spectacular. Gotta love that he added, “The stunts are a hobby” bit at the end of his tweet.

Cavill was added to the cast over the weekend. According to reports, he will play “some sort of a right hand to the head of” to Ethan’s team. Of course, those who are often associated with Ethan’s team are revealed as a double agent or someone who wants to take down the IMF.

Mission: Impossible 6 is tentatively scheduled for a July 27, 2018 release.

Just in case you forgot what some of Cruise’s stunts were in the past MI films, here’s a look at them.
