‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ Featurette Tells A Possible Spoiler
  |  @   |

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales looks to be a return to form for the franchise. In the fifth installment of the successful franchise, Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is going on a high-seas adventure once more and finds himself as a target of a very bitter ghost sea captain (Javier Bardem). But he is not alone. Along for the ride is Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry Turner (Brenton Thwaites), a young sailor of the Royal Navy. That’s right, Henry Turner, as in the son of William Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley).

But if you are looking for more insight on the film and the direction which Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning are taking the film, then check out the full story below.

The Kon-Tiki directors seem genuinely excited to tackle the long-running franchise as they address the scope of the film, the incredible action sequences, and some iconic characters. While it remains to be seen whether or not this is really the final adventure, one thing is pretty clear: this is the kind of Pirates film we have been waiting for.

Here’s the full synopsis:

Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea””notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.

The film also stars Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally, Stephen Graham, David Wenham, and Golshifteh Farahani. The script is written by Jeff Nathanson, based on a story by Nathanson and Terry Rossio.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales sails into theaters on May 26.
