For those of you who thought this would be just another Monday, you would be wrong. This Monday, Marvel rolled out the first teaser trailer for their upcoming sequel Thor: Ragnarok. And boy does it deliver! Could this be the end of Mew Mew? What is Jeff Goldblum wearing?! Was that an Idris Elba with dreads and a beard?!
Check it out the new teaser trailer below for yourself below, along with the newly released poster.
Once again, Chris Hemsworth is the man behind the hammer. Tom Hiddleston is back again as Thor’s nefarious brother Loki, with Sir Anthony Hopkins returning to his role as the patriarchal Odin. Joining the adventure this time are Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge the Executioner, and the amazing Jeff Goldblum as The Gamemaster. Cate Blanchett becomes the destructive Hela and finally we see the return of Mark Ruffalo‘s Bruce Banner and the Incredible Hulk.
In the teaser trailer, we see a new vision of Thor’s cosmos as director Taika Waititi brings a more 1980’s and 90’s type of SciFi to the Marvel universe much in the vein of 2016’s Doctor Strange and the cosmic universe masterfully envisioned for the Guardians of the Galaxyfilms. It’s more colorful and robust than we’ve seen in previous Thor outings. Also, Thor: Ragnarok is expected to have more funny elements and all of this is evident in today’s trailer.
The official rundown from Marvel:
In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok “” the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization “” at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger “” the Incredible Hulk!
Thor: Ragnarok blasts into theaters this November.
