New ‘Baby Driver’ Poster Puts The Pedal To The Medal and Pumps Up The Volume
  |  @   |

The summer blockbuster season is normally full of superheroes and sequels. So it’s easy for original films to get lost in the shuffle. But once in a while, there is a film that gets everyone’s attention. That film is Edgar Wright‘s Baby Driver. A rollicking getaway caper centering on a young and talented getaway driver who literally drives to the beat of his own music in order to drown out the constant ringing in his ears.

We’ve already seen a handful of trailers and featurette that give us an idea of how the music drives the film. Now two variations of a newly released poster reminds us how much fun this film could be. Check them out below.

Both a motion version, which first appeared on Wright’s official Twitter account, and a hand-drawn version of the poster were released. The motion poster gets its inspiration from its hand-drawn sister, which looks like something you might see from Mondo or Bottleneck Gallery. It’s the kind of poster that anyone would love to add to their wall. Considering that I have a few, if this poster is ever released to the public, I’d gladly add it to my already very limited wall space.

The film has already been praised for its use of eclectic music that spans generations and multiple genres. Based on early reviews the music is so in sync with what’s going on that the film itself could be a musical. The concept is very ambitious. In fact, the entire film revolves around music. Every sound from tire screeching, guns firing, gear shifting, and steps the characters take will be synced to the music.

Baby Driver also stars Kevin Spacey, Lily James, Jon Bernthal, Eiza Gonzalez, Jon Hamm, and Jamie Foxx.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

A talented, young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

Baby Driver will open in theaters on August 11, 2017.
