Last week on Prison Break, Lincoln called Sara (Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies) from Greece to get medical help for Michael (Wentworth Miller). She hopped on a plane. Fans got what they have been waiting for – their tearful loving reunion. At first we thought, her husband might be in the way, but that was quickly shot down when Michael identified Jacob (Mark Feuerstein) as Poseidon. She ran home to get her son out of danger and fake a happy marriage. That didn’t last long as Jacob was onto her. Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) came through with a shady cargo ship, but the Navy soon boarded. The freighter is bombed just as the 4 of them jump ship.

Spoilers below.

Prison Break: Resurrection 1.8 “Progeny” review: They are on a raft in the Meditteranean when they get picked up. Michael remembers a conversation he had with Jacob 6 years ago, “Be proud. You and me…we’re changing the world.” He recalls Poseidon’s lair, recruiting Whip (Augustus Prew), and how he knew about Michael’s penchant for zoos. “I’ll always be a step ahead of you.”

In the present, Michael texts with Sara (really Jacob), and knows almost instantly that something is wrong. That something is Sara locked in a closet. Little Mike shows Jacob how he hid a treasure map for his Legos in his drawing – like father, like son.

Lincoln tells Michael his story. He broke up with Sofia and got in hock with John Abruzzi’s son. That is the key. He will want Lincoln back so he gets a few seats on his drug plane.

Poseidon explains the lie to Van Gogh and A&W (Steve Mouzakis, Marina Benedict). He brings in a geek that is trying to break the code in Michael’s tattoos. He speaks of Michael’s plan and the actions seem to mirror the words. He sends a letter to T-Bag (Robert Knepper), to C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar), and puts his signal on a flight in JFK. The assassins are one step behind. Van Gogh seems on the up and up. He wants to leave 21Void.

They confront Abruzzi, and Sheba (Inbar Lavi) and C-Note pretend to be DEA and scare them off. C-Note’s time is over.

Abruzzi knows he’s been tricked. He’s after Lincoln.

The coordinates Michael gave Whip are in the middle of Lake Michigan. He finds a jar of blood? T-Bag is waiting for him when he gets back, with a classic Teddy speech. Is Whip his son?

The game begins. He texts “Sara” where to meet him. Poseidon and the assassins are easily made. They catch up to the car but are not there. Mikey left him a map to their lake house. Lincoln gives Sheba a giant kiss goodbye.

They get to the house. Jacob leaves, and Abruzzi shows up and shoots at Lincoln. Michael goes into the house. He sees his boy.

“I didn’t draw a map. We need to run!” A&W pulls off her wig. We hear a shot and see blood.

Well, that was a cliffhanger! Is it next Tuesday yet? I am invested in this show. There are rumors that it might continue. I hope so. The uniqueness of the old Prison Break made it constant excitement and intrigue, but I actually think the new version is of higher quality writing. And the guys are just fantastic as usual.

Some thoughts:

– Nice nod to Abruzzi.

– Sheba and Lincoln have so much more chemistry than Sophia and Lincoln did. They are a good match.

– Please let Van Gogh or Sara or Sucre or Sheba or C-Note have shot A&W!

– The scene with T-Bag and Whip matched only Michael’s reunion with his son as my favorite of the episode.

– How will they wrap this all up next week?

The season finale of Prison Break: Resurrection airs next Tuesday, May 30th at 9:00pm ET on FOX.
