TV Series Based On Frank Miller’s ‘Sin City’ Being Developed
  |  @   |

Our time in Basin City might not be over just yet. It’s being reported that a TV series based on Frank Miller‘s comic Sin City is now being developed.

The TV series is being developed by The Weinstein Company and Dimension, based on a take from writer Glen Mazzara. Mazzara created TV series like Crash and the show based on The Omen, Damien. He’s also the former showrunner of The Walking Dead, and wrote and produced episodes of The Shield, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, Hawthorne, and more.

Two film adaptations of Miller’s comic have been produced. The first was Sin City in 2005, which was directed by Miller and Robert Rodriguez. It was followed by Sin City: A Dame to Kill For nearly a decade later in 2014, also directed by Miller and Rodriguez.

The plan is remain faithful to the graphic novel with the TV series adaptation. At the same time, the hope is to also distinguish it from the movies by introducing original characters and timelines from the Sin City universe.

This new TV series, should it get an order, is set to be directed by Len Wiseman. Wiseman created and directed the pilot episode for Sleepy Hollow, and also directed the pilot episodes for Hawaii Five-O, Lucifer, and APB. He’s also known for directing the original Underworld movie and sequel Underworld: Evolution, Live Free or Die Hard, and the 2012 Total Recall remake.

Overseeing the project is Sin City: A Dame to Kill For producer Stephen L’Heureux, who also produces alongside Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein, Miller, Mazzara, and Wiseman.

A timetable for the Sin City TV series is not clear at the moment. We also don’t yet know about any potential homes for it to air on. The report says, however, that multiple networks are beginning to show interest in the project.
