If you can drag yourself away from your social media for 6 minutes today, drag yourself to The Feed, Jeff Cerulli‘s parody about taking social media obsession to the next level. Jeff Cerulli plays Jeff Cerulli, “CEO of his Facebook News Feed.”
Check out the less than 6-minutes pilot below.
Cerulli is completely deadpan, and this documentary style show is really funny, reminiscent of The Office. Little touches like his “World’s Best Boss” mug, and his job title – make this a tiny little gem.
My favorite line? “Anytime you can get someone from high school you haven’t spoken to in 15 years, a girl you hooked up with one time at TGI Fridays, and your overbearing aunt to engage in a dialogue on your Facebook feed, that my friend is called making a difference.”
Besides being funny, the thing that really appeals to me is that we are all Jeff Cerulli – we think we are as relevant and influence politics with our emphatic posts. Keep em coming, Cerulli!
The Feed also stars TJ Del Reno as the intern, Cate Weinberg as the field reporter, and his rival played by Harry Terjanian. You can explore more on The Feed’s website.
The Feed begins July 25th with a new episode every week after that, but you can watch the pilot below.
Synopsis:
After receiving attention for one of his politically charged status updates on Facebook, Jeff quickly becomes addicted to the likes and shares, letting his new found “influence” go to his head. He now treats his newsfeed like a publication and turns his living room into a newsroom, hiring a small team consisting of an over achieving intern (TJ Del Reno) and a disinterested field reporter with a famous war correspondent father (Cate Weinberg). Jeff tries to scoop CNN, Reuters and by far his biggest competitor, Robbie Taylor’s (Harry Terjanian) Facebook newsfeed in The Feed.
Written, directed and edited by Jeff Cerulli, The Feed series debuts July 25 with new episodes posting weekly.
