SDCC 2017: ‘Aquaman’ Crosses The Pacific Ocean To Share A Message With Hall H
  |  @   |

It wouldn’t be much of a WB panel without a presentation for their flagship franchise, the DCEU. With the screens still lit, the studio confirmed titles for Shazam, Wonder Woman 2, The Flash‘s “Flashpoint” story arc, Green Lantern Corps, The Batman, Suicide Squad 2, and The Batgirl.

Now before we start questioning where’s Aquaman, well, they started off the panel with that title.

Jason Momoa was running through the crowd, high-fiving members of the audience in one hand, while holding Aquaman’s trident (or five-dent) in the other. Since the film is currently in production, there wasn’t really much to show, however, Jason flew all the way from Australia to be a part of this and Justice League, and he brought a video message from director James Wan with him to share with the audience.

Because the film is currently in production, a video message was pretty much what attendees were going to get. But Wan wanted to be sure to tell them that this was going to be an origins story for Arthur Curry, despite the character being introduced in Justice League. He says he wants audiences to see Atlantis through Curry’s eyes. We also see some concept art of underwater battles. All of it looks very stunning, and if that quick shot of Mera in the Justice League trailer was the bar, then these pieces of concept art raise it more than a few notches.

That’s when they revealed a very quick clip. In it, we see two fishermen on a boat when they believe they caught something. Whatever is on the other end of that hook is putting up quite a fight, and that’s when the camera pans down under water to reveal a group of men riding on sharks, one of them is Aquaman himself.

He then goes above water and asks the two fishermen “Don’t suppose you want to talk about it.” There’s a slight pause, and Aquaman answers with “Neither do I.”
