The psychedelic horror game We Happy Few finally has a release date locked in.

The game is set in a trippy alternative 1960s London, in the town of Wellington Wells, where the residents are all heavily drugged in order to go about their day happily. As the player, you must find a way to blend in with the other residents, who will quickly turn hostile on you if they discover you’re not one of them.

I’m Afraid We’ve Come
to the End of Our Time

We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial. Set in a drug-fuelled, retrofuturistic city in an alternative 1960s England, you’ll have to blend in with its other inhabitants, who don’t take kindly to people who don’t abide by their not-so-normal rules.

We Happy Few will finally be released on April 13, 2018. The game was originally planned for a 2016 release, and an incomplete work in progress version has been available to play for a while now on PC and Xbox, but it’s just now getting the official release date.

Developer Compulsion Games has also announced that they’ve joined up with publisher Gearbox Publishing to release the game, and that in addition to being offered digitally a retail version will also be released. Another announcement is that the game is coming to PlayStation 4 along with the previously announced PC and Xbox One platforms. Mac and Linux releases are coming too, and those are expected sometime around the same time as the others. You can pre-order for Xbox One and PS4 over at Amazon now.
