So yeah, I’m a huge fan of the The Dresden Files in each and every incarnation it presents itself. But as much as I just cannot seem to get enough of title character, Harry Dresden, I am constantly surprised that his lack of forethought has yet to cost him his life. As a matter of fact, Jim Butcher’s The Dresden Files: Dog Men #4 is a perfect example of this. Harry just cannot seem to embrace the concept of thinking before acting.

In this fourth issue, Harry has pretty much screwed the pooch. Again. His rash actions in the last issue nearly killed Listens To Wind and himself. Luckily, cooler heads prevailed and he and his White Council partner were saved in the nick of time. But as soon as he is awake, not so local authorities are trying to send him packing. Following a lead, well following Mouse’s lead anyway, Harry and a member of the local law enforcement find themselves in the quite the pickle. But you know what they say, ghouls just want to have fun!

As always, these Dresden comics are a lot of fun. This one has some dream sequences that act like flashbacks and also features a bit of introspection as Harry has to start using his investigative skills instead of his magical ones. I’m not sure how much Jim Butcher has to do with the script, but it definitely feels like he is guiding it. Grab this and of the others, folks, you will not regret it one little bit.

Jim Butcher’s worldwide bestselling Dresden Files saga continues in this original limited series! With Joseph Listens-to-Wind badly wounded in their battle with the Wolf People, Harry is left to scour Taylor, Mississippi for clues as to the location of the other group of supernatural creatures preying upon the town. As is par for the course in his experience, what he discovers will make his prior confrontation with the Wolf People seem like a walk in the park…and further threaten his already fragile state of mind.
