New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival 2017 – Vendor Spotlight
  |  @   |

Fans attend conventions for a variety of reasons. It could be the celebrity guests, cosplay, panels, and Q&A sessions. One thing that unites all cons, is merchandise. This weekend fans poured into the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel in Iselin, New Jersey for the New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival. There were celebrities signing autographs and snapping photos, films running upstairs, and vendors galore downstairs. The horror fans had their pick of everything and anything their hearts could desire. There were plenty of t-shirts, comics, and DVDs but this con had some truly unique and original merch up for sale.

More below.

If you have open wall space, I recommend the beautiful prints and posters from Grey Matter Art. They were displaying gorgeous work featuring horror icons, and Marvel characters amongst others. My favorites were the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Army of Darkness posters. You can check out their collection at www.greymatterart.com and follow them on twitter @greymatterart.

Perhaps you’re prepping for the zombie apocalypse and looking to arm yourself. Check out Festers Funhouse and head to their store in Tom’s River, New Jersey. They had a full display of airsoft weapons, knives, and swords. When asked which were the best sellers, anything Game of Thrones sells well.

I had to get something for my wife, so first I stopped by Smashley Miller Creations. They had beautiful hand made decorative boxes, as well as designer soda bottles, something I had never seen before. Check them outHERE. After that, I appealed to my wife’s sweet tooth by stopping by the K&C Candy table. The had adorable little chocolate coffins along with other treats. I picked up a 12-piece assortment of Artisan Belgium chocolates and a few coffins, and they did NOT last long once home. Order from their website, complete with photos with horror celebrities at K&C Candy. And while you’re getting comfortable, check out TammeHandmade.com for her amazing collection of pillows featuring horror and pop culture icons, and historical figures.

A few amazingly unique places to grab some art work were Kneehigh Horror, which make custom mini-standups of horror characters and movies. They are at Kneehigh Horror or follow them @kneehighhorror. I loved the 3D artwork done by CuriousGoods666. You can check them out HERE.

Finally, I’ll promote some filmmakers who were selling their films and swag. I met Jason Delgado, producer of 80s-style horror film Easter Sunday. The film is available for free on Amazon Prime and at their table they were selling all sorts of film swag. Go to The Movie Chasm for more. Screening Friday night was 80s retro horror film, The Barn by writer/director Justin M. Seaman. The Barn had a table full of merch with Seaman and DP Zane Hershberger there to chat. Go to The Barn Merch to pick up their cool stuff, including 80s style wrestling buddies of their three monstrous villains.
