‘Sicario 2: Soldado’ Trailer: Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro Are Let Loose
  |  @   |

A teaser trailer for the long-awaited Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado is finally here. After months of hype following the first film and expressed interest in expanding the world, the sequel to the Academy Award-winning film will be hitting theaters in summer 2018.

However, the sequel is moving on without one of the brightest stars of the first film, Emily Blunt. Instead, we will get to see Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro carry on the story. Check out the trailer below.

Now there are some excellent wide-angle shots of helicopters heading towards some unknown destinations and cruel acts of violence, but it feels like a sequel that was hastily put together just so that it can meet the demand of having a sequel. The fact that Brolin and Del Toro’s characters are now going to be let loose tells us that there will be no more chains. We will get to see an unfiltered and dangerous Matt Graver (Brolin) and undercover operative Alejandro (Del Toro) in their purest form.

Taylor Sheridan returns to write the sequel, which is directed by Stefano Sollima. It also stars Catherine Keener, Isabela Moner, Jeffrey Donovan, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Matthew Modine.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

After discovering that drug cartels are smuggling terrorists across the US border, the CIA sends Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) and former undercover operative Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro) to eliminate the problem. Along the way, Alejandro revisits his old nemesis to settle scores.

Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado opens in theaters on June 29, 2018.
