On this week’s The Drill Down podcast, we put current news aside in order to review the year 2017, and this year, as we did last year, instead of merely having a stack-ranked list of top news of the year, we’re gonna make tech news compete for awards, affectionately called The Drill Bits. After the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) has escaped the revenge of the Master (John Simm / Michelle Gomez) and the Cybermen, he finds himself face-to-face with his first incarnation (David Bradley) in a world frozen in time. During TARDISblend 113, we talk about the long-awaited arrival of Jodie Whittaker as the new Doctor, we explore the interactions between the First Doctor and the Capaldi Doctor, and comment on presumably Steven Moffat‘s final goodbye from Doctor Who after seven years as showrunner.

Many of you no doubt watched Home Alone this holiday season. Believe it or not, star Macaulay Culkin still gets to dust off some of those famous old tricks he pulled in the movie 27 years after it was first released.
At a recent wrestling event, Culkin, wearing a “Rowdy” Roddy Piper shirt, showed up at ringside during one of the matches and helped sway the match using said Home Alone tricks. He even got in the ring for a showdown with Swoggle—best known as Hornswoggle from his WWE days.
