Netflix has released an official trailer for The End of the F**king World, a series based on the Charles Forsman graphic novel The End of the Fucking World.

The series stars Alex Lawther (Black Mirror, The Imitation Game) and Jessica Barden (Penny Dreadful, The Lobster) as a pair of teens—a budding sociopath and his blunt and ignorant girlfriend—who set off on a road trip. Also starring is Wunmi Mosaku (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Steve Oram (Sightseers, A Dark Song), and Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones, The Moorside).

Here’s a description of Forsman’s graphic novel from Amazon:

A reprint of the soon-to-be-a-British TV series graphic novel about a sociopath and his girlfriend on a road trip.

Fantagraphics is proud to publish this first-ever hardcover edition of TeotFW in conjunction with the 2017 television drama on UK’s Channel 4 (with distribution via U.S. streaming to follow soon thereafter). Originally released to critical and public acclaim in 2013, Charles Forsman’s graphic novel debut follows James and Alyssa, two teenagers living a seemingly typical teen experience as they face the fear of coming adulthood. Forsman tells their story through each character’s perspective, jumping between points of view with each chapter. But quickly, this somewhat familiar teenage experience takes a more nihilistic turn as James’s character exhibits a rapidly forming sociopathy that threatens both of their futures. He harbors violent fantasies and begins to act on them, while Alyssa remains as willfully ignorant for as long as she can, blinded by young love. Black & white illustrations throughout.

All episodes of the first season of The End of the F**king World are coming to Netflix very soon, this Friday, January 5th.

This isn’t your usual boy meets girl tale. Come join teenage outsiders James and Alyssa on a road trip like no other. Based upon the graphic novel by Charles Forsman.

  1. Honestly, the f**king title is a turn off but the show itself looks interesting. Will give it a shot
