Disney Preview 2018: New Looks At ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp,’ ‘Wreck-It Ralph 2,’ and More
  |  @   |

2018 will be a massive year for Walt Disney Studios. In addition to their animated and live-action content, they also have Marvel Studios and Star Wars. So it is safe to say that we will be busy until the end of 2018. And what better way to ring in the new year than to give you a brief tease of what’s to come.

The studio has previewed upcoming films like Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, and Ant-Man and the Wasp from Marvel Studios, The Incredibles 2 from Pixar, Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 from Walt Disney Studios Animation, and Mary Poppins Returns, A Wrinkle in Time, and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms from Walt Disney Studios, which includes some new images. Check all of them out below.

While we may have already seen some of these photos, it is a nice reminder of what is to come. Plus some of them are just about to come out in a matter of weeks, while others are still a work in progress. So giving any more images would just be going into spoiler territory.

It’s hard to tell what’s going on with Ant-Man and the Wasp, especially since we don’t know what brought the two into the situation that they are in, in the image seen below. But from what the synopsis tells us, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is having a difficult time balancing his responsibilities as a hero and a father. And things only get worse when he is confronted by Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) about a new mission which could help unlock the secrets of their family’s past. The film hits theaters July 6, 2018.

We pretty much know what we are going to get from Black Panther based on previous reports. Director Ryan Coogler said he took inspiration from things like A Prophet and James Bond films to help shape the political superhero thriller. The film hits theaters February 16, 2018. Watch a trailer.

A Wrinkle In Time promises to be a mesmerizing blockbuster from Ava DuVernay, one of today’s top directors in Hollywood. The highly diverse cast will help bring attention to those who have been pleading with Hollywood to have more roles that reflect today’s very diverse society. The film opens on March 9, 2018. Watch a trailer.

The Incredibles 2 image is something we may have seen before. So we should be expecting more exciting images and trailers in the weeks leading up to the film’s release. Get ready to see it on June 15, 2018. Watch a trailer.

And the same goes for Avengers: Infinity War. While it is an image that we have embedded into our brains, the excitement has not diminished. In fact, it has only grown stronger. The mega superhero ensemble opens on May 4, 2018. Watch a trailer.

The image of Keira Knightley standing alongside some fantastical royalty is one that we have seen before when the images for The Nutcracker and the Four Realms were released late last year. But since the film is coming out in November of this year, it’s is safe to say that these won’t be the only images we will be seeing. The film hits theaters on November 2, 2018. Watch a trailer.

Then there’s a piece of concept art from Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. We haven’t seen much from the film since Disney gave us an early glimpse of it at the D23 Expo last year, but Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) must travel the ‘net to find a replacement part for Vanellope’s Sugar Rush game or risk losing the entire game itself. The film will also feature the voice of Taraji P. Henson, who voices Yaas, the head algorithm of the trendmaking website BuzzzTube. That film opens in theaters on November 21, 2018.

Finally, there’s Mary Poppins Returns. The quasi-sequel will see the turn of the title character (played by Emily Blunt) who returns to help the Banks family in their time of need. Directed by Rob Marshall (Into The Woods), the film also stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, Emily Mortimer, Ben Whishaw, and Colin Firth. The film hits theaters on December 25, 2018.
