Netflix has dropped the newest trailer for season 2 of Jessica Jones. Following the events of season one and the Defenders miniseries, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is searching for her lost past. And she discovers that she isn’t the only one whose tragic story gave her superpowers.
After the end of season 1, Jessica thought she could find closure in killing Kilgrave (David Tennant), the mind-controlling superhuman who tormented the title character nearly all of her life. However, she is unable to put her past behind as she struggles to overcome the nightmares of her past. The nightmares that gave her powers after her family was killed in a car accident. To make matters worse, a new detective agency wants to absorb Alias Investigations.
Check out the latest trailer below.
In the trailer, we see that Jessica is a household name. However, that comes with its own set of problems as people ask her if she knows vigilante heroes like Captain America. Her reaction is something you would expect from the anti-hero who doesn’t give a shit.
But as Jessica tried to outrun a certain aspect of her past, only to confront it in the end, it looks like we will see a new kind of Jessica. Season 2 has her looking into her own past and the mystery surrounding the accident that killed her family. While the first season made her a cynic, it looks like this season we get to see this Jessica take the steps to move forward and give herself her own sense of closure.
However, she will discover that she isn’t the only one who was created. There are others out there, and the shadowy organization that created her is still at large.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Jessica Jones is back as New York City’s tough-as-nails private investigator. Although this time, the case is even more personal than ever before. Fueled by a myriad of questions and lies, she will do whatever it takes to uncover the truth.
Jessica Jones also sees the return of Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Eka Darville, all of whom will reprise their respective characters. Leah Gibson, J. R. Ramirez, and Janet McTeer also join the cast.
Jessica Jones season 2 will premiere on Netflix on March 8, 2018.
