‘Sorry To Bother You’ Trailer: The Wildly Awesome Sundance Darling Hits Theaters This Summer
  |  @   |

It’s easy to say that indie darlings will be one of the most talked about films of the year, but for a film like Sorry to Bother You, it may live up to that.

Boots Riley‘s directorial effort is being hailed as one of the most wildly innovative films of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and now it will hit theaters later this year. And believe me, the things that this trailer has, it is so out there, it’s going to make you want to see it as soon as it opens. Check out the first trailer for the film below.

In Sorry To Bother You, Lakeith Stanfield plays Cassius Green, a somewhat motivated, unemployed young man who is looking to make a name for himself. While his first steps to becoming someone start with a bottom of the barrel telemarketing job, he’s taught by a fellow coworker (Danny Glover) that certain sacrifices have to be made in order to climb the corporate ladder. As a result, he loses a part of his identity, much to the chagrin of his activist girlfriend (Tessa Thompson).

The film seems to be addressing social themes in regards to the current climate with humor and irony. It should be interesting to see how the whole thing plays out in front of a wider audience. For one thing, those who saw it at the Sundance Film Festival loved the film.

Judging by the look of the trailer, it looks like the film will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. It’s bold, fresh, and funny. And there’s no way that a film like this should go unnoticed. Hopefully, the marketing for it will kick up as we get closer to the release date.

Here’s the brief plot synopsis:

In a dystopian not-too-distant future, black telemarketer Cassius Green discovers a magical key to professional success and is propelled into a macabre universe.

The film also stars Terry Crews, Patton Oswalt, David Cross, Steven Yeun, and Armie Hammer.

Sorry to Bother You is currently slated to hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
