Five ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Posters Lack Some Orange Depth

Avengers: Infinity War

We’ve all heard about how Avengers: Infinity War will have 22 heroes in the film. If you include the villains and the ambiguously motivated Loki, that’s 28. That’s a lot of character posters.

So how do you solve this problem? You put the Avengers in five other posters. Five posters that are colored to the Infinity Stones we have seen so far. Check out who made the cut, and which stone was left out, below.

No sense in breaking all down but some of these posters don’t really make sense – not that that’s a bad thing.

For instance, the blue poster – or Space Stone poster – has Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) with Captain America (Chris Evans), Bucky (Sebastian Stan), and Shuri (Letitia Wright). Considering Mantis and Nebula are more likely to run into Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Thanos (Josh Brolin), their appearance on this poster doesn’t necessarily mean that they will meet up with Cap, Bucky, and Shuri. But I could be wrong.

The red poster – Reality Stone – makes a little bit more sense since it’s just Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Wong (Benedict Wong), and Spider-Man (Tom Holland). All three could be seen in New York defending against a Q ship attack.

Purple has the founding members of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor. Which seems appropriate since it was Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel) who had to rescue the entire galaxy from the destructive power of the Power Stone.

Yellow – the Mind Stone – seems to be the oddest group of them all. Although Vision (Paul Bettany) may be in possession of the stone, it seems to just throw in characters. Other than Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen), War Machine (Don Cheadle), and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) don’t have any real connection to each other, other than the fact that they fought on opposite sides during Captain America: Civil War.

Finally, there is the green poster – the Time Stone. Unless Thanos messes up again, somehow the Time Stone finds its way to Wakanda, where Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Okoye (Danai Gurira), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) just so happen to make one of their last stands against the Mad Titan’s army.

So with all those posters, and all those heroes, is Marvel Studios saying that Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) is the Soul Stone? Wouldn’t that be a laugh riot? Of course, the Soul Stone poster could just go to Thanos and the Black Order. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Avengers: Infinity War smashes into theaters on April 27, 2018.

  1. Not much for an official plot synopsis, right?

I think that there are many theories about the Soul Gem. Many, many. Some are far-fetched, some are quite plausible. In any case, I don’t think it will be much of a mystery – let’s remember that the Mind Stone’s origin was anything but surprising.
