Non-Profit Organization Wants To Help Kids Watch ‘Avengers: Infinity War’
  |  @   |

We all love going to the movies. Heck, I’m having a fun time writing about them. So it’s sad to hear that some people may not have the same opportunity to watch them as much as I do. But hearing about how teachers and other inspirational people gather together to help kids watch Black Panther brought a tear to my eye.

So it gives me joy to see how that has inspired another movement, one that will help kids who cannot control their circumstances go to a theater to watch Avengers: Infinity War. More on how you can help, and the newest TV spot, below.

Over at GoFundMe.com, a non-profit organization called Reel Outreach is looking to help kids who have no control over their circumstances enjoy a night out at the movies. So what better movie than Avengers: Infinity War. Here’s a brief description of Reel Outreach’s goal:

“At Reel Outreach, our belief is that everyone deserves a night (or day) at the movies and that kids, who have no control over their circumstances, need it the most. With rising costs for tickets and concessions, for many kids the enjoyment of sitting down to enjoy a film is sadly out of reach.

We’ve just launched our non-profit organization and want to kick it off with an event to send kids to a screening of Avengers: Infinity War.
Since we’re just starting out, we’ll be working locally in our area, but with enough support, we’d love to host the same event in other locations as well.

We’ll be working with the local Boys and Girls Club and Mission Arlington to give kids in the area the chance to watch Marvel’s blockbuster movie on the big screen. The money raised will go towards securing a theater for the kids to use (hopefully the weekend of release or close to it), as well as concessions for them to enjoy during the movie.

All extra money raised will go towards securing more tickets for additional seats (or a larger theater to reserve), potential goodies for the kids (movie posters, etc), and making sure they have the best night at the movies.

Avengers: Infinity War will arrive in theaters on April 27th, with tickets set to go on sale later this week. As such, we’re starting our fundraising campaign now in order to get the theater and seats reserved as soon as possible. This way, we won’t run the risk of missing out on the film’s release for the kids.”

Reel Me knows that some may consider a night out at the movies a luxury, but for those who cannot afford it, it is an escape from “circumstances they cannot control.” As of this post, they have already raised $790 of their $1,500 goal. And don’t worry, they said every little bit helps. It doesn’t matter if it’s $1 or the remaining $710, just giving something helps bring them that much closer to achieving their goal.

Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Josh Brolin, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Bradley Cooper, and Anthony Mackie

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Infinity War is set to hit theaters on April 27, 2018.
