Netflix has released a date announcement trailer for season two of GLOW, their ’80s women’s wrestling series inspired by the real G.L.O.W. (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling).
The trailer is basically a music video, with the cast lip-syncing the song “Maniac” from the movie Flashdance, before the release date for the new season is revealed.

Inspired by the real story of the 1980’s female wrestling league, the series — set in Los Angeles and showcasing big hair and body slams — will be the fictionalized story of an out of work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.
Jenji Kohan (Orange is the New Black) and Tara Herrmann (Orange is the New Black) are executive producers, and the series was co-created by Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (Orange is the New Black), who will serve as showrunners.
Starring in GLOW is Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Marc Maron, Britney Young, Sydelle Noel, Britt Baron, Kimmy Gatewood, Rebekka Johnson, Sunita Mani, Kate Nash, Marianna Palka, Gayle Rankin, Kia Stevens, Jackie Tohn, Ellen Wong, Shakira Barrera, Rich Sommer, Chris Lowell, and Bashir Salahuddin.
