Anyone that knows me knows that I have been a fan of The Eternal Champion series/saga/lifestyle for decades. Michael Moorcock created what I consider to be the greatest incarnation of a hero ever. And I know I am not alone as there are adaptations and re-issuings year after year, decade after decade.

So it brings me no end of pleasure to introduce you to The Michael Moorcock Library: Erekose – The Swords Of Heaven, The Flowers Of Hell.

This is the seventh volume in what can only be described as a modern collector’s dream. I hope you’ll take the time to explore this tome and all of its brethren. I have not yet made it through eighty odd pages but so far it is an excellent rendition.

And even though I am a bigger fan of the Elric and Corum incarnations, I appreciate them all. Few people can appreciate the concept of multi-faceted like Moorcock. It is possibly his greatest accomplishment, to be honest. But as I was saying, this is definitely worth picking up!

Thanks for reading!

A classic comic adaptation from the acclaimed fantasy author Michael Moorcock!

In this story Erekosë assumes the role of “Clen of Clen-Gar,” a noble of the land called the “Dream Marches”, part of a greater land called “Heaven”.

He befriends a peaceful race of beings known as “Angels”, who can best be described in one of their forms as flying manatees. In the day-time, they gracefully float through Heaven, absorbing water vapour from the air, and by night they release the stored water as acid rain upon a neighboring land coincidentally called “Hell”, whose savage inhabitants live in poverty compared to the luxury of Heaven and the Dream Marches. The angels can also assume an insectoid form similar to human sized ant-men.

Award-winning writer and artist Howaard Chaykin joins forces with Michael Moorcock to bring the Eternal Champion known alternatively as Erekose, Urlik of Skarsol or John Daker to vivid life in this classic tale from 1979. Includes an exclusive introduction by acclaimed comic book writer Cullen Bunn.
