  |  @   |

Another fan favorite movie being brought back to theaters by Fathom Events is The Sandlot, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

The cult classic is not just a baseball movie but an all-around great summertime flick well worth watching around this time each year. In addition to seeing the movie on the big screen again or for the first time, these screenings will also include a preview for an upcoming documentary about The Sandlot.

You can find more information on when the movie is returning to theaters, where you can buy tickets, and watch a video promo for the event below.

The Sandlot 25th Anniversary
A Home Run of Family Fun

Play Ball! It’s the early 1960’s and fifth-grader Scotty Smalls (Tom Guiry) has just moved into town with his folks (Karen Allen and Denis Leary). Kids call him a dork — he can’t even throw a baseball! But that changes when the leader of the neighborhood gang recruits him to play on the nearby sandlot field. It’s the beginning of a magical summer of baseball, wild adventures, first kisses and fearsome confrontations with the dreaded beast and its owner (James Earl Jones) who live behind the left field fence. Soon nine boys have become best friends, Scotty is part of a team, and their leader has become a local legend in this hilarious and warmhearted comedy.

Fans will not want to miss the 25th Anniversary celebration that includes a sneak peek of a documentary on the making of The Sandlot!

Also starring in the movie is Mike Vitar, Patrick Renna, Chauncey Leopardi, Marty York, Brandon Quintin Adams, Grant Gelt, Shane Obedzinski, and Victor DiMattia.

The Sandlot will return to theaters on July 22nd and July 24th, and you can head over to the Fathom Events page if interested in securing some tickets. They’re not available to purchase just yet, but sales will be opened up to the general public beginning tomorrow, June 22nd.
