Another game announced during E3 2018 was The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, a standalone prequel to the upcoming sequel Life is Strange 2 from developer DONTNOD Entertainment.

The game only takes an hour or two to finish, depending on how you like to play. Fitting to the Life is Strange series, it’s more of an episode. But the best part about it? You can download and play it for free right now.

What is Captain Spirit?

Captain Spirit is a free demo set in the Life is Strange Universe that contains links to the brand new story & setting of Life is Strange 2.

Chris is an ordinary 9-year old boy who wants to be a super hero. He loves his toys and has a big imagination that takes him on all sorts of adventures, but today is not one of his usual adventures, today something truly extraordinary will happen to him.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit will be released digitally and completely free for everyone on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on June 26, 2018. Captain Spirit is completely free of charge and will remain free for players to experience forever.

Captain Spirit does not require any additional purchases to enjoy the full experience.

How does it link to Life is Strange?

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is not Life is Strange 2, but it does connect to it in multiple ways. This is the first step into the diverse world of Life is Strange beyond Arcadia Bay where you will find secrets and hints as to what to expect in Life is Strange 2. In addition to this, choices & actions you make in Captain Spirit will carry over to Life is Strange 2.

Life is Strange 2 will be the third series of episodes released. A prequel to the original titled Life is Strange: Before the Storm, was released in three episodes at the end of last year.
