A couple of weeks back Raven Banner released a trailer for The Unseen, a horror flick inspired by author H. G. Wells’ The Invisible Man which was adapted into the classic 1933 Universal Monsters title of the same name.
The movie follows a man trying to find his missing daughter while slowly becoming invisible. It was first released during Fantasia International Film Festival back in 2016, but it’s getting a proper release from Raven Banner sometime this year.
Continue below to read a brief synopsis for The Unseen and to give the trailer a watch.
SYNOPSIS:
A man, who years earlier mysteriously abandoned his family and isolated himself in a small northern town, returns for one last chance to reconnect with his troubled daughter. When she goes missing, he risks everything to find her, including exposing the fact that he is becoming invisible.
With things going very, very poorly for Universal’s Dark Universe so far, it’s good to have movies like this to look forward to which may offer more enjoyable new takes on Universal’s Classic Monsters. Or at least new takes which are actually horrors and not action-adventure movies.
The Unseen is written and directed by Geoff Redknap, who makes his feature directorial debut. Redknap is best known for his work as a special makeup effects artist, with credits including The X-Files, Watchmen, The Cabin in the Woods, Fringe, Fear the Walking Dead, Deadpool, Supernatural, Star Trek: Beyond, The Flash, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and more.
Starring in the movie is Aden Young (I, Frankenstein; Rectify), Camille Sullivan (The Man in the High Castle, Rookie Blue), and Julia Sarah Stone (The Killing, Allure).
Redknap, Sullivan, and Stone all worked on the TV series Falling Skies as well.
