‘The First’ Trailer: Sean Penn Is On A Mission To Get To Mars

Hulu has released a teaser trailer for The First, an original series starring two-time Academy Award winner Sean Penn and Natascha McElhone.

The series comes from House of Cards creator Beau Willimon. It’s set in the near future and follows a group of astronauts who are on a mission to make history as first humans to get to Mars.

SYNOPSIS:

The First: Sean Penn leads an ensemble cast in this near-future drama about a crew of astronauts attempting to become the first humans on Mars. Under the direction of visionary aerospace magnate Laz Ingram (Natascha McElhone), the crew contends with peril and personal sacrifice as they undertake the greatest pioneering feat in human history.

Also starring in the series is Rey Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, Brian Lee Franklin, Hannah Ware, T.C. Matherne, James Ransone, Anna Jacoby-Heron, Oded Fehr, Keiko Agena, Melissa George, and D.W. Moffett.

All episodes of the show will arrive on Hulu on September 14th. The show is a co-production between Hulu and the British television network Channel 4, so if you live over in the UK that’s where you’ll be able to watch it.

Starring Sean Penn, all episodes of the Hulu Original Series The First lands September 14, only on Hulu.

The First is created by Beau Willimon (House of Cards) and stars Sean Penn. Set in the near future (2030), this groundbreaking story explores the challenges of taking the first steps towards Mars.

Viewers will get an intimate look at the dedicated characters trying to reach the unknown while dealing with the psychological and physical toll it takes to achieve the impossible.
