We’ve all seen Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne in comedies before. Both are clearly up to the task of making audiences laugh. And now we will get to see the two work together in Sean Anders‘ film Instant Family, which is based on a true story.
Paramount has dropped the first trailer for the upcoming film which sees the two play a married couple who suddenly adopt three children and learn that parenting may be difficult, but there are great rewards that come with it. Check out the trailer and a featurette below.
The film was inspired by Anders’ life as a father to three of his adopted kids. In the featurette, Anders and his wife talk about what started out as a joke turning out to be a life-changing experience. And how all of the ups and downs of raising adoptive kids served as an inspiration to the comedy. Which, if you are a sucker for these kinds of films, might be something you would be very interested in watching.
Again, Wahlberg and Byrne are no strangers to comedy, although Byrne can be underutilized at times. However, it looks like she will get a chance to shine here. And if you haven’t seen her in Juliet, Naked, yet, then I suggest you watch it. It’s very light an uncomplicated, and it doesn’t ask too much of you.
This is the third time that Wahlberg has worked with Anders. The two have worked together on both Daddy’s Home films, and both were hits at the box office.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
When Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) decide to start a family, they stumble into the world of foster care adoption. They hope to take in one small child but when they meet three siblings, including a rebellious 15 year old girl (Isabela Moner), they find themselves speeding from zero to three kids overnight. Now, Pete and Ellie must hilariously try to learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hopes of becoming a family. INSTANT FAMILY is inspired by the real events from the life of writer/director Sean Anders and also stars Octavia Spencer, Tig Notaro and Margo Martindale.
Instant Family will hit theaters November 16, 2018.
