Last year we found out that Netflix had given The Haunting of Hill House a 10-episode straight to series order. The show would come from Mike Flanagan, Steven Spielberg‘s Amblin TV, and Paramount Television.

After that it was revealed that the cast would include Carla Gugino, Michiel Huisman, Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, and Kate Siegel.

Now Netflix has released an official trailer for The Haunting of Hill House, which you can find below along with more info.

The show is based on author Shirley Jackson‘s 1959 novel of the same name. Here’s a description of the book from Amazon:

Flanagan wrote, directed, and executive produced the series. He previously wrote and directed Oculus, Hush, Absentia, and Ouija: Origin of Evil, as well as Before I Wake and the Stephen King adaptation Gerald’s Game for Netflix. Another King adaptation he’s currently working on is Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining.

The Haunting of Hill House is set to arrive on Netflix on October 12th.
