New Jersey Horror Con 2018 Vendor Spotlight

At any gathering of geek culture there is an array of awesome merch for fans to get their hands on. It was no different at the New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival last weekend at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. While many attendees show up to get photos with their favorite horror celebrities or take part in Q&A panels, many others are just there to shop. Being a horror convention, you can expect some crazy vendors dealing in masks, replica weapons, genre art, and even horror-themed food and drink.

Here are a few vendors that stood out over the weekend.

If you’re looking for some super creative pop-horror artwork, check out Mike Chiechi’s Frank’s Kid at frankskid.com. They have a great selection of t-shirts, pins, and framed art interweaving our favorite horror icons with ’80s pop references. I couldn’t resist buying the Dream Warriors framed print done like an ’80s cartoon.

I am always looking for horror-themed clothing for my daughter, who is a very small 7-year old. Luckily I found Oh Rexy Threads! Courtney was there to show off an awesome selection of toddler and child clothes. I loved the Billy Butcherson, “Cat Got Your Tongue” shirt inspired by Hocus Pocus. Check them out on there etsy shop here.

As a full-time teacher when I’m not covering horror conventions, coffee is of paramount importance. The folks at Deadly Grounds kept us caffeinated, offering samples of there different flavors. My friend James was even able to grab some horror-themed decaf! Check out their entire selection at here.

Bliss by Brandon Halsey

I got to spend some time with author Brandon Halsey as well, who was there selling his latest work Bliss. I’m about 50 pages in and it’s very good so far. The novel focuses on a euphoria-causing drug and the evil men trying to control it. It’s currently rated a 3.5/5 on goodreads.com and you can find out more and order a copy here.

New Jersey Horror Con 2018: Ghost Girl Greetings

Finally, I once again have to shout out my friends at Ghost Girl Greetings. They had a tremendous weekend selling their horror and pop culture-themed greeting cards. Dana DeLorenzo aka Kelly Maxwell on Ash vs Evil Dead shot a promo video with the Ghost Girls, Laurie Necco and Toni Gabriele. DeLorenzo collaborated on the AvED line of cards. The girls also handed out Friday the 13th-themed cards to cast and crew from the Friday franchise, including composer Harry Manfredini and Adrienne King from Parts 1 and 2 and made customers of the two as well. They even delivered a gift to Elvira herself, Cassandra Peterson! You can find their entire collection on their etsy shop, and follow them on Twitter @GhostGirlGrtngs and Instagram @GhostGirlGreetings.

NJ Horror Con and Film Festival already announced their next con for March 29th – 31st, 2019 back at the Showboat. You can sign up for vendor table or just buy your tickets at their official site.
