‘Charlie’s Angels’ Reboot and Next ‘Terminator’ Move Into ‘Wonder Woman 1984’s Old Release Date
  |  @   |

When one studio film moves its date, you can be sure that it won’t be vacant for very long. In fact, right after Wonder Woman 1984 moved from its November 1, 2019 date to June 20, 2020, two other films took its place.

Reports say the new Charlie’s Angels reboot and the next Terminator film from Paramount have both moved into the November 1, 2019 slot. More on the report, below.

Deadline says that the new Charlie’s Angels film from director Elizabeth Banks will be moving from its September 27, 2019 date to November 1, 2019. That’s just a little over a month from the original date. Now that signals that Sony has a bit more faith in the project than they originally did. The film, which stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska, as a trio of spies in a more grounded take on the popular franchise. The Townsend Agency has grown exponentially, with teams spread across the globe providing security and intelligence services to a variety of private clients with offices and highly trained teams worldwide. This film focuses on one of those teams.

With this new date, Charlie’s Angels will be in competition with Sonic the Hedgehog (November 8), the untitled Kingsman 3 film (November 8th), an untitled Fox Marvel film (November 22), and Frozen 2 (November 27). But while it may seem like the film may have sat alone on November first, it will be facing some very stiff competition. That’s because the new Terminator film is also moving in. That’s two weeks earlier from its original date.

Here’s the official confirmation from ERC Box Office’s tweet:

Again, this is just a part of the business. But two major films like this going head-to-head is not a favorable situation for either studio, and it is only a matter of time before we hear one of them getting rescheduled to a new date. Of course, we will keep you posted should that announcement come in.
