‘Breaking Bad’ Movie To Center On Jesse Pinkman’s Quest For Freedom
  |  @   |

Though Breaking Bad as a televised series is officially over, Jesse Pinkman’s (Aaron Paul) ending was pretty ambiguous. That being said, it opened the door for fans to theorize if he would create a new life in Alaska, pick up Brock, or just stay on the run. So for those who are looking for some sort of closure may actually get it with the newly announced movie.

A new report says the Breaking Bad movie will center on Jesse Pinkman and his “quest for freedom.” More on the report, below.

/Film was able to obtain the exclusive news on the film that is said to follow “the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.” Three-time Emmy winner Paul will reprise his role as Pinkman.

While the logline is vague, it wasn’t hard to surmise that it would be about Pinkman, who was last seen overwhelmed with emotion after being held captive by Neo-Nazis, who forced him to create Walter White’s cook on a massive scale.

The “quest for freedom” could mean a number of things. Freedom from his sins of the past. Freedom to finally be able to do what he wants. Anything. Of course, more details about the film are bound to come out, but here’s what we do know. Creator Vince Gilligan will write and executive produce with the option to direct. Production on the two-hour film will take place between this month and February. However, it’s not clear if this will be made for theaters or television. Which also means we probably won’t know about a release or air date for quite some time.

Now, Pinkman is the only character to be confirmed for a return. We know that the film will obviously take place within the Breaking Bad franchise, which means we could see other characters make a return as well. However, that will be up for Gilligan to decide who comes back.

So it remains to be seen what Pinkman will be doing on his search for freedom. He’s already suffered enough. That being said, it is Breaking Bad, there are no real happy endings.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as more developments come in.
