‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Finally Has A Release Month
  |  @   |

It’s been a long, long wait for fans since Game of Thrones season seven came to a close over a year ago now. And while that wait will continue into 2019, as we learned in July, all we knew as of then was that it would be sometime in the first half of the year.

Now we have something to finally focus in on. HBO has announced that Game of Thrones season eight will arrive in April of 2019. The perfect time to kick off the show’s final season, considering that all but two of the seven seasons premiered in April. And one of those two began just one day before April.

HBO made the announcement with a video, which you can check out below.

Here’s some more information on the final season from HBO:

The epic fantasy series Game of Thrones will return for its six-episode, eighth and final season in 2019.

David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik will be the directors for the new season. Writers for the new season are David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill.

The executive producers of the series are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield. Co-executive producers are Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin.

Now, we continue our wait. But at least now we know when the show will finally make its way back into our lives. Even if it’s only for a few short weeks before leaving again. Forever. Commence weeping.

After that, we have the various spinoffs being developed to look forward to. The first comes from George R.R. Martin and Jane Goldman. It’s set to star Naomi Watts, and will take place thousands of years prior to the events of the main series.
