Recently there’s been talk in the news of adding the “Space Force,” a new branch of the United States armed forces which would be dedicated to dealing with space stuff.

It may sound like an April Fools’ Day joke, but a new comedy series titled Space Force is on its way to Netflix from Steve Carell and Greg Daniels which revolves around the people who are tasked with creating this new military organization.

More information on Space Force and a brief announcement video for the show can be found below.

Space Force is co-created by Carell and Daniels, who will both also be executive producers. Carell will also be starring in the series, while Daniels will be showrunner.

The two have worked together in the past on the American version of The Office. Daniels was one of the creators of the US version of the show, and also wrote, directed, and executive produced. Carell of course starred, and also wrote, directed, and produced episodes.

There’s no official synopsis for the series yet, just a simple logline:

Workplace comedy centered around the people tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services”¦ Space Force.

Howard Klein of 3 Arts Entertainment is also set to be one of the executive producers on the show.

No release window or possible cast for Space Force have been revealed by Netflix yet.
