Birds Of Prey Image 18

It looks like we are getting our first cheeky sneaky peeky look at Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) – yes, that’s the actual title of the film starring Margot Robbie, who is reprising her role as Harley Quinn.

Although the film is still more than a year away from its release, a teaser – if you can call it that – showing the entire cast in full costume, has been revealed. If anything, it looks more like a fun music video with heroes and villains letting loose or standing in heroic or villainous poses. Check out the full teaser below.

If you are expecting to find anything resembling a piece of dialogue or action sequence, or even something that looks like a plot, you won’t find that in this teaser. And that’s perfectly fine. Actually, this is the perfect introduction for a cast of characters like this one. It does a far better job of giving us our first look at these characters and how they will function in the film than a redundant teaser photo.

In addition to Harley’s newest look, we do get to see Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and Gotham City detective Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), along with Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco), and Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina). They are very quick shots of these newest characters, as the video isn’t more than 20 seconds long. So you’ll have to pause at times to see if there is anything you missed. We also took a few screenshots from the video so that you can get a better look at some of the costumes that will be seen in the film.

Judging by the looks of it, Birds of Prey is be more of a colorful effort than that of Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. It presents itself as something that is slightly more playful, albeit still very deadly. And the one who looks like she will be having the most fun is Harley Quinn, who we see is still holding onto that giant carnival like mallet. That soon transitions to shots of the supporting cast standing in a dark room against some dimly lit neon lights. We then see another shot of Quinn wearing pink suspenders with streamers on her arms. And she’s holding a drink. The video ends with a text that reads “See You Soon” and a lipstick kiss mark.

Directed by Cathy Yan, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) arrives in theaters on February 7, 2020.
