Avengers: Endgame

Around this time last year, Marvel Studios excited fans with a new look at Avengers: Infinity War. The mega-ensemble film was everything fans expected it to be. However, they were all emotionally crushed when Thanos (Josh Brolin) did what he did at the end (let’s just leave it at that right here, for those who may not be caught up). The first Avengers: Endgame trailer revealed how devastated Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are after their loss. Now, it’s up to Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) to defeat the Mad Titan or experience even more loss. Check out the latest look at the upcoming sequel here below.

Thanos’ famous snap is no joke, as the trailer for Endgame opens to a cold, empty, and lifeless Earth. Cityscapes are shrouded by a depressing cloud while the New York Mets’ Citi Field stadium is dark and empty. We then see a room with a circle of chairs – something that looks like you would see at an AA meeting, with a poster hanging on a wall that reads “Where Do We Go Now That They’re Gone?” It’s not quite clear if this is referring to the loss of our heroes or the loss of a loved one. But Steve Rogers (Captain America) is in attendance. We hear in voiceover: “Some people move on… but not us.”

And soon, we get to see flashes of the Avengers and Guardians Of The Galaxy rallying together to avenge the Earth and the Galaxy. Tony Stark and Nebula (Karen Gillan) are soldering pieces of the Benatar cockpit together. That is followed by Steve, Natasha, Bruce, and Rhodey walking towards an unseen figure, Natasha practicing shooting targets, Rocket (Bradley Cooper) opening the door, and Rhodey and Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) suiting up – hopefully, Scott’s appearance with Rhodey dispels any rumors that he is stuck in the past. And then Thor walking out of a cave opening. In another shot, Hawkeye seems to be startled by what he is looking at. And that all ends with someone’s arm’s strapping on a shield. This could be Cap. This could be someone else. Who know? All that we know is that we need to have Avengers: Endgame now. And finally, we close out with the surviving Avengers walking out of their base with the sun setting in the background.

Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters on April 26, 2019.
