‘Wonder Park’ Super Bowl Spot: The Power Of A Child’s Imagination Brings A Defunct Theme Park To Life

Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have released another look at Wonder Park, a family-friendly animated feature that centers around a girl who uses her imagination to bring a defunct theme park to life. Check out the latest look at the upcoming film here below.

For those who love theme parks or at least visiting where they once thrived, Wonder Park might be just for them. It is a bit in the same vein as The LEGO Movie films where it calls on its audience to embrace their childhood imaginations to create new worlds. The film follows June, who at a young age dreamed up a theme park with her mom. She would eventually lose interest as she got older. But one day, she stumbles upon a defunct theme park that looks like the one she created with her mom.

Now the theme park of her dreams needs saving, and it will be up to June to use her imagination once more to bring the park back to life before it can be overrun by an army of wicked chimpanzombies – yeah, I don’t get the name either.

Wonder Park is part one of Nickelodeon’s plans to expand the title. After releasing the film, a television series of the same name will start to air on Nickelodeon TV next year. This wouldn’t be the first time that an animated film from Nickelodeon Movies has made the jump from film to a TV series spinoff. In fact, it is the third following films like Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Barnyard.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

When the park of her dreams needs saving, only June’s imagination can bring it back to life. Watch the new trailer for #WonderPark now, and don’t miss it in theatres March 15.

There was also some behind the scenes controversy surrounding Wonder Park In January 2018, it was reported that director Dylan Brown was fired from the production by Paramount Pictures following an investigation into complaints of “inappropriate and unwanted conduct.” After he was fired, David Feiss, Clare Kilner, and Robert Iscove came in to replace him and oversee the completion of the feature film.

Wonder Park features the voice talents of Brianna Denski, Matthew Broderick, Jennifer Garner, Ken Hudson Campbell, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Mila Kunis, John Oliver, Kath Soucie, David Cross, Norbert Leo Butz, and Kevin Chamberlin. It opens in theaters on March 15, 2019.
