The Twilight Zone

We first found out that the Academy Award winning writer and director behind Get Out, Jordan Peele, was producing a new take on The Twilight Zone back in 2017. Since that time we’ve seen a teaser video and a Super Bowl spot, and also found out that Peele himself would be hosting the anthology series.

Now CBS All Access has released an official trailer for the brand new Twilight Zone. On top of that, they’ve also revealed a premiere date for the show. You can find the info and watch the trailer below.

From the CBS press release:

CBS All Access today revealed the official trailer and key art for its highly anticipated new original series THE TWILIGHT ZONE, which will premiere with two episodes on Monday, April 1. Following the series premiere, all subsequent episodes will be released on Thursdays beginning April 11, exclusively for CBS All Access subscribers.

Jordan Peele will host and narrate THE TWILIGHT ZONE and additional cast members include Ike Barinholtz, John Cho, Lucinda Dryzek, Taissa Farmiga, James Frain, Ginnifer Goodwin, Zabryna Guevara, Percy Hynes-White, Greg Kinnear, Luke Kirby, Sanaa Lathan, Kumail Nanjiani, Adam Scott, Rhea Seehorn, Alison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay, Jefferson White, Jonathan Whitesell, Jessica Williams, DeWanda Wise and Steven Yeun.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg‘s Genre Films. Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg serve as executive producers along with Win Rosenfeld, Audrey Chon, Glen Morgan, Carol Serling, Rick Berg and Greg Yaitanes.

The original “The Twilight Zone” premiered on Oct. 2, 1959 on CBS. The series took viewers to another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind. “The Twilight Zone” became a worldwide phenomenon as it used socially conscious storytelling to explore the human condition and culture of the times. It was a journey into a wondrous land of imagination for five years on CBS, from 1959 to 1964. The godfather of sci-fi series, the show explored humanity’s hopes, despairs, prides and prejudices in metaphoric ways conventional dramas could not. Every episode of the original series is available to stream now on CBS All Access.

The trailer features a bunch of quickfire peeks at some of the episodes we’ll see in the debut season, including Adam Scott’s “Nightmare at 30,000 Feet.” The episode is the third take on the story following the 1963 original “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” starring William Shatner, and the 1983 version from Twilight Zone: The Movie starring John Lithgow. Those familiar with Shatner’s version will even spot a familiar face making a cameo in the trailer.

This is just one of many projects that Peele has worked on in recent years including his highly anticipated feature film follow-up to Get Out, titled Us. Click right here for more on that movie, such as a trailer and a Super Bowl spot.
