There’s nothing like good old-fashioned hype to build anticipation. Jessica Chastain says that It: Chapter 2 will have one of the bloodiest horror sequences in horror movie history. There’s no telling if this is true or not, but based on how horrifying and successful Andy Muschietti‘s It (or It: Chapter 1) was, we should take the actress at her world.

Chastain, who appears in the upcoming sequel as an older Beverly Marsh, made the claim while on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. While I don’t take these nightly talk shows too seriously, they have been known to give us small nuggets worth of information; for instance, Ben Affleck confirming that he’s done with Batman. Sure, we’ve known that was coming, but still. And we’ve also seen trailers debut on these shows. So, there may be some truth to what Chastain said. Far from a spoiler considering we don’t really know how Beverly gets into this situation. But it may be something of a recurring thing for the character since we’ve seen her be drenched with blood before. In It: Chapter 1, a younger Beverly Marsh, then played by Sophia Lillis, was hit with a geyser of blood when she looked down her bathroom sink drain. So it wouldn’t be surprising if an older Bev experiences that nightmare once again.

It: Chapter 2 stars James McAvoy, Jay Ryan, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, James Ransone, and Andy Bean as older versions of members of The Losers Club, while Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Wyatt Oleff return from the first film as the younger Losers, respectively.

Warner Bros. has scheduled It: Chapter 2 for a September 6, 2019 theatrical opening.
